EU Tells Srilanka to Accelerate Implementation of Conditions Laid down for GSP+..

 Although European Union has  agreed  to grant  GSP+   to Srilanka , it has now cautioned  Srilanka  to accelerate  implementation   of eleven conditions  laid down  by them before 26^th of April  to approve  GSP+ facility to Srilanka.  Eleven  conditions include protection of Human Rights , elimination  of  frauds and corruption,  selling of  unprofitable institutions and  to ensure  independence of the judiciary . The European Union is  firm on it’s  stand .  As the   French election is scheduled to be held on 21^st April 2017   Srilanka should accelerate   implementing these conditions. Failure would result  in permanent cancellation of GSP+ to Srilanka, sources said.
