Murder case of Ruggerite Wasim Thajudeen is once again taken up in high Court today(16).
The Colombo High Court granted bail to former Narahenpita Crimes OIC Sumith Perera, who was arrested and remanded in connection with the murder of former rugby player Wasim Thajudeen.
The decision was made when a revision application filed on behalf of the suspect came up before Judge Manilal Waidyatilleke. Sumith Perera was ordered to be released on a cash bail of Rs.100,000 and three personal bails of Rs.1 million each. According to bail terms, the suspect was also ordered to surrender his passport.
He was arrested by the Criminal Investigation (CID) on 20 April, 2016. Thajudeen was found dead on 17 May, 2012 inside his car which appeared to have crashed into a wall in Kirulapone .
