Sustainable Development Bill Rejected by Northern Provincial Council

The Central, North Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Western,  Uva , North Central , Provincial Councils have given their consent to the Bill subject to amendments.

The  Speaker Karu Jayasuriya announced in Parliament yesterday, while Eastern Provincial Council had notified Parliament,  that it had decided to postpone deliberations on the Sustainable Development Bill until the proposed constitutional reforms are implemented, the Northern Provincial Council has informed that it does not approve  the proposed Sustainable Development Bill.
