JO Calls For Debate

United People’s Freedom Alliance Parliamentarian Keheliya Rambukwella said, that  the opposition will support the government to amend the 13th Constitutional Amendment.

Parliamentarian Rambukwella in response to a question raised by MP Mujibur Rahman noted that a parliamentary debate must be called to deliberate two articles of the 13th amendment to the constitution.

He  said the international community is trying to use the 13 plus on a broader scale adding that this was unacceptable.

The MP said the leader of the India’s BJP at the time was Sushma Swaraj and the then government met with her and discussed this matter and clearly stated what must be done in this regard.

MP Rambukwella said the opposition is not opposed to the 13, there are two factors in it that the opposition has agreed to hold discussions on.
