Prasanna and Asela’s Exemplary Cricket Performance Brought Army Promotions

Gunaratne attached to the 6 Field Regiment- Sri Lanka Artillery of the Army was promoted to the rank of Sergeant following his all round performances in Zimbabwe and Test Cricket. Further the Army Cricket Committee had recommended promotions to Cricketers Seekkuge Prasanna and Asela Gunaratne as in the rank of Warrant Officer 1 and in the rank of warrant officer 2 respectively.

Followed by recommendation made by Army Cricket Committee, they were promoted by the Army Commander following their all round performances in Australia.
