Dr. Azeem Continue to Give Evidence in Bond Case

The Presidential Commission appointed to look into the controversial bond issue will  continue to  record evidence of  Dr. M. Z. M Azeem, Additional Superintendent of the Public Debt Department  today (3) . His evidence had already been  recorded on 2^nd  March 2017.In yesterday’s evidence  M. Z. M Azeem said, that Former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran visited the office of the Superintendent of the Public Debt Department at around 10.45 a.m. on February 27, 2015, when the questionable transaction is said to have taken place.

He further noted that entrance to the office is limited during the transaction period and that he has failed to see a Governor visit the office in such a manner during his tenure at the Central Bank.

Secretary to the Presidential Commission Sumathipala Udugamasuriya said the former Additional Superintendent of the Public Debt Department is due to be inquired on several other matters, today( 03).
