A Project to Develop Handicrafts Among Students
National Arts Forum coming under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and Ministry of Education in collaboration with the UNESCO inaugurated a handicrafts project for school students yesterday. This was organized and chaired by the Chairperson, Heshini Bogollagama. Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiudeen and Minister of Education Akilaviraj Kariyawasam participated in the event. 4000 students have benefited from the project introduced during the last year (2016).
Cream of 800 students selected from 4,000 participated in yesterday’s event. In 112 institutions island wide including North and East training are now providing training to students in handicrafts.
