SLMC Will File a Petition Against SAITM

The Sri Lankan Medical Council (SLMC) stated that they will be filing a petition against the function of the Malabe Medical School on  10th  March 2017.
Secretary of the SLMC, Terrence De Silva said,  that the petition challenged the Court of Appeal’s  decision made in connection with  the issue at hand.  A medical student, currently enrolled at the Malabe Private Medical College stated that the appeal court has granted legal permission to the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) to issue valid degrees.
Hence,  the Court of appeal has ordered the SLMC to provide provisional registration to the doctors graduating from the university, the court’s media representative revealed.  A parliamentary debate will take place on the 9 to discuss the state of unrest that has occurred due to the functioning of SAITM.
