Rishad Strives Hard To Control Dengue in Kinniya

 Immediately after return from London,  Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiudeen has met the Minister of Health Rajitha Senaratne and submitted a written request outlining steps that need to be taken to control spreading of dengue in Kinniya, which caused death of 12 personnel and 2500 to 3000 patients getting treatments in Kinniya hospital. Rishad insisted specialist medical personnel to be sent  and to draw necessary medical and other manpower from Kalmunai regional health office. In response,  it was decided to send 3 medical specialists and to provide all necessary facilities to Kinniya hospital, said a medical authority. In the cabinet meeting too Rishad  has raised the dengue menace in Kinniya .  President has instructed  the Minister  of Health  Rajitha  and Minister of  Disaster Management Anura Yapa  to address this issue immediately and take necessary steps.
 Meanwhile, dengue eradication division director Thushara, who rushed to Kinniya has examined the situation and prepared a report in consultation with the governor of eastern Province. This report was handed over to the Central Government, an official said. ACMC member Abdullah Mahrooof met the Governor and G.A. of the Eastern Province and requested emergency medical personnel and funds. In the meantime Trinco MP Imran Mahroof has met the Prime Minister and briefed him the serious situation. Followed by this meeting.  PM reported to have allocated 50 lakhs for dengue eradication in Kinniya. State Minister of Resettlement and Rehabilitation State M.L.A.M Hizbullah too has taken positive steps in this connection. Apart from politicians,  volunteers from the district and outside the district are now in the field to assist dengue victims and controlling dengue spreading in Kinniya. MP Mahroof said, that Kinniya people are extending their support to these  volunteers.
