Major political parties to sign nominations tomorrow

 

The main political parties expect to begin handing over nominations for the forthcoming general election with effect from tomorrow.

At the same time, minority parties began handing over nominations today.

UPFA nominations papers were signed today at Mahaweli Center.

SLFP General Secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said handing over nomination papers would begin tomorrow.

UNP is also in the final stage of preparing their nomination papers.

Minister Lakshman Kiriella stated that the completed nomination papers would be handed over probably on Monday morning.

Meanwhile, JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva said that his party nominations would be handed over tomorrow and Monday.

Frontline Socialist party also began handing over its nomination papers today at Galle District Secretariat.

In addition, Democratic Party handed over its nominations at the Colombo District Secretariat today.

TNA is also expected to hand over its nominations tomorrow.

TNA former MP Selwam Addaikalanathan stated that the preparation of nomination papers is at its final stage.
