The period of time provided for all member countries of the UNHRC session in Geneva to provide their opinions on the new Proposal pertaining to Sri Lanka ended last night. A new proposal has been submitted to the UNHRC on Srilanka seeking two years time grace to implement UNHRC 2015 resolution.
Under these circumstances, the progress report on Human Rights in Sri Lanka formulated by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Prince Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein is scheduled to be tabled before the UN Human Rights Council today(22).
