Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh, 1st ODI Highlights: Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by 90 runs, take 1-0 lead in ODI series

Bangladesh ride on Tamim Iqbal‘s 127 and fifties by Sabbir Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan as they beat Sri Lanka by 90 runs to take 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. For Sri Lanka, it was a poor show by their batsman as they continued to lose wickets on regular intervals. Dinesh Chandimal and Thisara Perera scored fifties as Sri Lanka managed to put a fightback against Bangladesh’s confident bowling attack. Pacer Mustafizur Rahman was the pick for Bangladesh as he returned with the bowling figures of 3/56 while Mashrafe Mortaza and Mehedi Hasan Miraz claimed two wickets apiece. Taskin Ahmed and Shakib Al Hasan took one wicket each. Tamim Iqbal was named as the ‘Man of the Match’

2225 hrs IST: Yes? No? Confusion between the two batsmen as Sri Lanka lose their ninth man. Poor communication between the two as Mustafizur Rahman comes up with a superb throw and hits the wickets directly and Sandakan is well short of his crease.
2224 hrs IST: FIFTY! Perera steels two runs as Bangladesh’s sloppy fielding continues. Brings up his sixth ODI half-century.
2220 hrs IST: SIX! Perera hits a flat one towards long-on for a maximum. Perera as he edges closer to his sixth ODI half-century.
2210 hrs IST: Surunga Lakmal has to depart. Mustafizur Rahman bowls a cutter as Lakmal goes for a big hit but mis-hits and Sabbir Rahman takes a dolly.
2206 hrs IST: SIX! Perera not giving up the fight. Muscles it over long on and fight in his head is still going on. Pitched up, he got underneath the delivery and swung it cleanly across the line
2203 hrs IST: Consecutive boundaries give Sri Lanka fans something to cheer about. Perera going the aerial route to Mashrafe Mortaza and finding the rope on both occasions

2153 hrs IST: Sri Lanka are down and almost out. Has been a poor show tonight from them. Pathirana put in an effort with 31 runs but crumbled under the rising required rate and lack of wickets as Mashrafe capitalises. Siriwardana before him falling to Mustafizur.
2119 hrs IST: Couple of good overs for Sri Lanka as 14 runs scored in last two overs. Still a huge challenge for the hosts.
2117 hrs IST: Sri Lanka are 136 for the loss of five wickets. Bangladesh at this point of time were 171/3. But they had Tamim Iqbal and Shakib AL Hasan in the middle while Sri Lanka has lost its half team.
2110 hrs IST: WICKET! With Chandimal walking back, it is Sri Lanka’s hopes of making comeback vanishing. Chandimal looked confident throughout in his knock but something like this was not necessary at this moment. Sri Lanka reduced to 121 for the loss of five wickets and Mehedi Hasan gets his econd wicket. What a day for Bangladesh players.

2032 hrs IST: Sri Lanka camp wears a worried look at the moment. It has been a great match for Bangladesh so far. With both bat and ball, they have checked all boxes

1926 hrs IST: Some confusion down there in the middle but Upul Tharanga makes it back comfortably.
1924 hrs IST: FOUR! Second four for Sri Lanka as Tharanga slices this one towards point for a four. Not to forget, Tharanga and Mendis need to stick together to rebuild Sri Lanka’s innings. They still need 312 runs.
1920 hrs IST: Four overs gone and Sri Lanka are 8 for the loss of one wicket. Tharanga and Kusal Mendis have a challenging task here. Both have to stay strong and not give away their wickets if Sri Lanka want to keep their chances open.
1902 hrs IST: WICKET! Mashrafe Mortaza strikes early, Gunathilaka is gone. This is a serious blow for the hosts. Gunathilaka played it late as the ball missed the inside edge and went on to hit the front pad. Gunathilaka seeks Tharanga’s advice for a TV review. 1755 hsr IST: Another good over for Bangladesh as Shakib AL Hasan hits three back to back boundaries off Lahiru Kumara. Bangladesh cross 250 run mark.
1750 hrs IST: Four! Tamim Iqbal hits it down mid-off as the fielder fails to stop the ball cross the boundary line. 250 up for Bangladesh.
1745 hrs IST: FIFTY! 33rd ODI half-century for Shakib Al Hasan and fourth against Sri Lanka.
1740 hrs IST: Sri Lanka has gone upstairs for TV review after the on-field umpire was unmoved. Umpires decision stays as it shows that the ball pitched outside leg. Shakib Al Hasan safe and one run short for his half-century.
1636 hrs IST! That’s it! Wait for his eighth ton is over as Tamim Iqbal plays it towards deep square for a single to bring up his 100. Takes out his helmet and acknowledges the crowd, gets standing ovation from the dressing room.

1627 hrs IST: FIFTY! That’s it! 35th ODI half-century for Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal. Tamim plays it to deep-midwicket as the batsman takes a single to take his score to 50. What an innings he has played and well supported by Sabbir Rahman.
1624 hrs IST: FOUR! First boundary after 21 balls. Tamim Iqbal edges close to his fifty as he plays the ball fine of first slip for a four towards third man boundary. Bangladesh reach 133 for the loss of three wickets.
1622 hrs IST: Another tidy over for Sri Lanka as Gunaratne just gives three-runs in the 24th over. Two wickets in quick succession has pushed Bangladesh on the back foot.
1618 hrs IST: Four runs and a wicket from Sandakan wicket. Bangladesh have been reduced to 125/3 from 118/1.
1614 hrs IST: WICKET! Appeal for caught and bowled and the on-field umpire is unmoved. Tharanga has asked for review and its red which comes up. Mushfiqur Rahim walks back as Sandakan gets his first. Shakib Al Hasan walks in as Bangladesh captain makes his way back.
1610 hrs IST: WICKET! Gunaratne strikes as he gets Sabbir Rahman. Rahman goes for a drive but manages to find Sri Lanka captain Upul Tharanga. Much needed breakthrough for the hosts. Rahman walks back after scoring a 56-ball 54-run knock. Mushfiqur Rahim walks in the middle.
1602 hrs IST: FIFTY! Rahman punches the ball towards long-off and takes a single to bring up his fourth one-day international fifty. On the other end, his partner Tamim Iqbal is batting on 41.
1600 hrs IST: 100 up for Bangladesh! Iqbal and Rahman have added 76-runs for the second wicket. Rahman two runs short for his fourth ODI-fifty
1550 hrs IST: Appeal for leg before and the umpire gives out but Bangladesh review it. As it turns out, the ball has completely missed the pad and hence it is a successful one.
1531 hrs IST: Tamim Iqbal guids Perera’s delivery towards backward point for Bangladesh’s first four in two overs. The latter then went up for a leg before appeal that didn’t interest the umpire and that was followed by another four over extra cover. A run off the next ball brings up the 50 partnership between Tamim Iqbal and Sabbir Rehman. 
1526 hrs IST: Bangladesh are 65/1 after 11 overs. Thisara Perera bowls the 11th over and goes for just a run. The run rate has slowed down a bit for Bangladesh but it is not something that will cause worries in the visitors’ dressing room.
1507 hrs IST: Sabbir Rehman replaces Sarkar. He takes his time to settle in but hits Suranga Lakmal for a four in the sixth over. Bangladesh are now 50/1 after 7 overs.
1455 hrs IST: GONE! Soumya Sarkar c Chandimal b Lakmal 10, Bangladesh 29/1. Lakmal angles this one in, Sarkar misreads the line and  looks to flick it, ends up edging it to the keeper. Sri Lanka have their breakthrough.
1451 hrs IST: Kumara having some difficulty in reigning in Tamim Iqbal and smashed two fours to spoil what was otherwise a good over.
1444 hrs IST: Lakmal tries to remain economical and only gave two runs in the first four balls of the third over. But Soumya Sarkar carves the fourth one to deep point for four. Bangladesh are 17/0 after 3 overs.
1435 hrs IST: Suranga Lakmal bowls the first over and Tamim Iqbal takes guard with Soumya Sarkar. It produces just two runs. Lahiru Kumara’s over, on the other hand, goes for nine runs with two fours off which one were four leg byes.
