Tissa Seeking Permission to Leave the Country
Former UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake was arrested and remand on charges of publishing a letter with forged signatures of the then common opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena and the then opposition leader Ranil Wickremesinghe during the 2015 presidential election campaign. Later the Colombo High Court granted bail to him.
The motion filed by Tissa Attanayake to travel abroad will be considered on 3rd April 2017, Colombo High court judge Wikum Kalu Aarachchi said today .
He sought High Court permission to leave the county from April 10th to 28th to visit his daughter in Australia.
