Rathupaswala Shooting : Three Soldiers Further Remanded
A protest was launched in August 2013 in Rathupaswala against the operation of a factory that area residents claimed was responsible for the pollution of water.
Three persons including 2 students were killed and over 50 were injured during the unrest that broke out during a protest when security forces attempted to disperse protesters.
The three soldiers were arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department on the 23rd of March and remanded.
Followed by this, they were produced before the Gampaha Magistrate Court and further remanded till 7th April 2017 by Gampaha Chief Magistrate D. A. Ruwanpathirana today(3).
