Food Poisoning Cost 3 Lives & Over 500 Persons Hospitalized

Three persons have passed away after suffering from food poisoning after consuming food at a religious function in Wanagamuwa area, Damana, yesterday.

The Police Media Unit said over 500 persons were hospitalised with food poisoning.

Police said the patients took ill after consuming a certain food item given out at a place of religious worship in the area. An Ampara hospital spokesperson said some patients are in a critical condition.
