Journalist Upali Tennakoon Assaulted : 5 Suspects Before Identification Parade

 Journalist Upali Tennakoon and his wife were assaulted on the 23rd of January 2009 in Imbulgoda where he sustained significant injuries.

Recently the first suspect charged over the assault was produced at an identification parade.

Five  suspects arrested in connection over the assault on Journalist Upali Tennakoon are due to be produced at an identification parade today.

The five suspects were earlier released on bail on charges of assaulting Journalist Keith Noyahr in 2008.

Upon their release the five suspects were directed to the Gampaha Magistrate’s Court following , which they were remanded over the assault on Upali Tennakoon.
