No Water Tariff Hike

Minister of Urban Development, Water Supply & Drainage Rauff Hakeem while addressing and event held in Polgolla in Kandy, he said  that he has assured water tariffs will not be increased without the consent of the President and Prime Minister.

He said, that even though there was a requirement to increase the water tariffs, prior Cabinet approval was necessary for the price hike.

He added that a decision with regards to the price increase of water would be taken in the near future.
