SLMC Specified Minimum Qualification for Government or Private medical college Admission

In  the year 2011theSrilanka Medical College  had prescribed    at least two credit passes and an Ordinary pass ( C 2, S 1) in the biology stream at the GCE (A/L).  The SLMC insists that  this minimum qualification for student admission to a Government or Private medical college should be the standard to be maintained. This would be sent to the medical faculties of the eight universities today (11).

The minimum criteria  in respect of facilities  in a government or private medical college, lecture halls and library facilities, the cadre of the lecturers and professors, the number of beds in the medical colleges and the facilities for clinical training etc. should be  maintained .

A source from the SLMC said,  that the SLMC  would hand over them to the Minister of Health for the publishing in the gazette after getting the approval from the boards of the faculties of the medical colleges for these standards.
