Weather Forecast For 12th April 2017

Due to low level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka the prevailing showery condition is expected to enhance during next few days.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at most provinces of the island after 2.00pm.

Showers may occur in the Eastern, Western and Southern Provinces during the morning too.

Heavy falls (about 100mm) can be expected at some places particularly in the Western, North-western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and North-central provinces.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.

On the apparent northward relative motion of the Sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 05^th and 15^th of April in this year. The nearest areas of Sri Lanka over which the Sun is overhead today (12^th), are Tandikulam, Periyakaddu, Madukanda, Talgahawewa, Pangurugaswewa and Kumburupddi about 12:11 noon.
