Garbage Dumping on Urban Development Lands Banned

Followed by the  Meethotamulla garbage dump  disaster, Urban Development Authority has decided to ban dumping of garbage on any state land coming under the purview of the Urban Development Authority as from 1^st May  2017.

If land space is required by the Town Councils, Pradesha Saba or Government Institution  to dump their  garbage, they should make use of the funds allocated for that purpose and find a suitable place. Steps have been taken to shift  Meethotamulla garbage to Puttalam said, Urban Development Authority Chairman,  Doctor Jegath Munasinhe.
