Wheel Need New Undies Miracle As Plane Lands Safely At Heathrow Despite Losing A WHEEL Before Take-Off Without Anyone Noticing

A PLANE travelling from Canada to London managed to land safely yesterday despite losing a WHEEL mid-flight.
The pilot on the Air Canada flight from Montreal to Heathrow is not believed to have noticed the rear tyre had fallen off and was shocked after being told on landing.

Incredibly, the captain still managed to land the Boeing 777-300 without a problem and there were no injuries.
The missing wheel was later found embedded in a fence a few miles from Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport in Montreal.
It is believed the wheel bearings collapsed in mid-air and despite the wheel nuts still being on the base, the tyre had snapped away from the main gears.
The suspension system on the aircraft is also said to have been damaged.

A worker at Heathrow airport who does not want to be named said: “I’ve never seen anything like this in my life.
“There is no way the plane would have taken off in Canada without someone doing the final checks on it and they would have noticed if a wheel was missing.
“The proper checks could not have been carried out because these wheels are worth around £10,000 each and they don’t simply just fall off.
“None of the passengers knew what had happened and neither did the pilot, he was in shock when he landed and was told about the wheel.
“Heathrow and Air Canada will try and keep this to themselves but that isn’t right, they should inform the public because this could have been fatal.”

The plane, which was due to be cleaned and take passengers back to Montreal at around 1pm yesterday was grounded yesterday and won’t be available for at least three days.
After it landed, the aircraft was towed away and is said to need major work as the wheel base was damaged severely on landing.
A Boeing 777-300, which has a maximum speed of 590mph, cruises at altitudes of up to 43,100 feet, weighs more than 350 tonnes and can hold 299 passengers, has 14 wheels.

But it isn’t the first time an Air Canada flight has lost one, as last month a flight was grounded from Brussels to Montreal after another wheel sustained damage and had to be repaired.
And in November 2014, another Air Canada flight, this time from Calgary to Grande Prairie, was forced to make a crash landing after a tyre burst on take-off.
On impact, the landing gear collapsed and one propeller tore through the cabin and hit a woman in the head who miraculously survived.
A spokesman for Canada Air said: “Preliminary information indicates that a wheel separated from the aircraft while taxiing down the runway before takeoff in Montreal and came to rest beside the runway.

“As the landing gear is comprised of 8 wheels, this had no impact on the safe operation of the flight.
“Flight AC864 an A330 with 294 passengers on board landed normally in London and taxied to the gate.
“Passengers on the returning flight are being re-booked on other flights later today while the aircraft is being repaired.”
