Is Krishantha De Silva Eyeing for the Post of Commander, Joint Operational Forces?

Current Army Commander Krishantha De Silva is on second extension of service, which expires on 21^st August 2017.

Srilanka’s Commander for Joint operational forces , Air Chief Marshal, Kolitha Gunatilake is due to retire from service with effect from 16^th August 2017.

Current Army Commander Krishantha De Silva reported to have been eyeing for the post of Commander for Joint operational forces. As a prelude he has decided to retire from the post of Army Commander with effect from 22^nd August 2017. As a follow up step, he has instructed his staff to return all official vehicles issued to him on or before 16^th May 2017 back to the authorities.
