Free Train Travel For SLFP Members

The Sri Lanka Nidahas Tharuna Peramuna (SLNTP), the youth wing of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), said that for the first time in history, free train travel will be provided to SLFP  members, to enable them to attend the May Day Rally in Kandy.
Chairman of the SLNTP, Shantha Bandara, speaking to the media, at the SLFP headquarters, said that this special train service will leave Colombo for Kandy at 7.00 a.m. on the day of the May Day Rally.
Shantha Bandara added that 3,000 buses have been ordered as well and that at least a minimum of 250 youth will participate in the rally from each electorate bala mandala.
Members of the party will arrive at the Getambe Sports Stadium in two processions and from Gannoruwa along the Colombo Kandy Road, passing Girls’ High School; the processions will begin at 1 p.m., according to Bandara.
 He further said that this would be the first time that, on a May Day, the SLFP youth brigade of over 40,000, representing 160 electorates, will be summoned to Kandy.
He said that 2,500 youth from the Districts in the North and East, such as Jaffna, Batticaloa and Trincomalee, are due to arrive in Kandy prior to May Day. He further said,  that, the only May Day Rally of the SLFP and the Alliance will be held in Kandy.
