In December 2016, a 35-year-old man was abducted in the Baseline Road area in Dematagoda and assaulted by a group of individuals who had arrived in a Land Rover Defender, which is reportedly owned by the MP.
In the absence of first accused in the case against MP Hirunika Premachandra in connection with the abduction incident in Dematagoda, the Colombo High Court yesterday postponed its hearing until 6th November 2017.
The case was postponed after a Counsel informed HC Judge R. Gurusinghe that his client could not appear before the Court since the accused has been admitted to the Colombo National hospital.
