Releasing of Indian boats Only with the Consent With SL fishermen

Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said, that the Srilanka Government had not decided to discuss releasing of Indian fishermen’s boats confiscated during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sri Lanka. It could only be released only after discussing it with the representatives of the fisheries associations in North.

Since the Indian government has taken positive steps to solve this unauthorized fishing by Indians in Srilankan waters, we consider to release some of these boats in future.
