John Seneviratne Complained Against Rajitha in Cabinet Meeting?
Minister John Seneviratne made a complaint against Rajitha Senaratne to the President Maithreepala Sirisena at the Cabinet meeting. He alleged that Rajitha has directly commented on him in UNP’s May Day rally platform. He said thus:
“Rajitha is the Co-Spokesmen announcing cabinet decisions. Hence, he should make responsible statements. In the May Day meeting he said, that I lick the boots of Mahinda Rajapakshe. If so, we all are in the same board, because Rajitha too was part of the Mahinda’s Cabinet. Don’t allow him to make such a statement”, he concluded.
In reply, President Maithreepala said, it is wrong to make such a statement. Members of the same cabinet should not comment like that on each other. Hence, Ministers should take steps to avoid such comments in future.
However, Minister Rajitha Senaratne was not present in the cabinet meeting where this matter was raised.
