GMOA’s Strike Concluded

The Government Medical Officers’ Association’s island-wide strike launched in protest against  the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine will conclude at 8am today.

Secretary of the GMOA Dr. Naveen De Soysa said the 24-hour strike launched together with 200 other trade unions had been a success.

In the meantime Deputy Minister Ajith P Perera has said the strike carried out by the GMOA yesterday had been a failure.

He further said,  that with the lack of support the strike had received from the general public and other trade unions, it was clear that those parties backed the government’s decision in relation to the SAITM institute.
