Shooting Near the Dikkumbura Junction in Imaduwa

A person a 42-year-old resident of Dikkumbura was shot and killed this morning while accompanying his child to a private tuition class, near the Dikkumbura junction in Imaduwa.

The shooting was carried out by two individuals who arrived on a motorcycle with their faces covered concealing their identity.

The victim was rushed to the Karapitiya Hospital in critical condition, however he succumbed to injuries a short while later.

Preliminary inquiries have revealed that the shooting was the result of a long-standing dispute between two rival groups.
