Gnanasara Thera’s Contempt of Court Case Postponed
The General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena organisation Galagodathe Gnanasara Thera was charged with Contempt of Court, insulting Court, undermining the supremacy of Court and for unruly behaviour opposite the Homagama Court premises and threatening journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda’s wife Sandya Eknaligoda on 25th January 2016.
The case was fixed for hearing today before Appeal court judge Preethi Padman Surasena.
As Gnanasara Thera has not been present in the court due to his illness and submitted a medical certificate to the court , Appeal court judge has postponed the case for hearing on 31st May 2017. Further he announced , a panel of judges will be appointed to hear the case.
