The Disaster Management Centre has anticipated and warned the public of Kalutara to remain vigilant of possible landslides due to heavy rains.
District DMC Assistant Director Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Jayasinghe said, if the area sees rainfall of more than 150 mm, there is a possibility of landslide.
The Assistant Director said the Bulathsinhala, Palindanuwara, Agalawatte, Wallalla Divisional Secretariats may experience landslides.
He noted in the past landslide warnings have been issued in the area when rainfall of more than 150 mm was recorded.
Accordingly he said as in consideration of heavy rain, the public in these areas are requested to be vigilant of possible earth slips.
