When is Local Government Election?

 

Different Opinions Were Expressed Regarding new election law to be introduced. Minority Parties have raised concerns about new election law, which they see as disadvantages to them.

In answering to a question raised on new election law in Parliament, Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe said, that after obtaining approval from the cabinet a decision can be taken about conducting the elections. This is possible after agreement reached after discussing it with leaders of the political parties and submit it to the Cabinet. Until such time no definite date or period for conducting election can be determined, he concluded.
