AG Requested Court to Investigate the Disappearance of Shashi Weerawansa’s Passport & ID

The Attorney General has requested the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court to investigate the disappearance of MP Wimal Weerawansa’s wife Shashi Weerawansa’s passport and national identity card (NIC) from the court’s impound.

The request was made by Deputy Solicitor General Dilip Peiris, appearing on behalf of the Attorney General.

The passport and identify card belonging to Shashi Weerawansa, who is charged with providing false document to obtain a diplomatic passport, were impounded by the court and handed over to the court registrar.
