Water Supplies to Several Areas in Galle Disrupted

Drinking water supplies to several areas in the Galle district will be disrupted for three days. District Secretary HD Kodikara said,  that the Main Water Treatment Plant in Wakwella is being threatened by the flooding and it was decided to shut the facility down.

District Secretary Kodikara said the rise in water levels has threatened to damage equipment used in the main water distributing station of the Water Supplies Board. He said the electronic equipment have been removed. He requested residents of Galle to collect water and be prepared to face the situation.
