An Agreement Incorporating a Project to Register a Company in one Day Signed Before Minister Rishad Today

For the first time in the commercial history of Srilanka, a project to register a company in one day has been finalized and an agreement signed at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce before the Minister Rishad Bathiudeen  today (30).

This agreement was signed between the Department of Registrar of Companies and KPMG Srilanka. Rs.57 million is being spent to implement this agreement. Without recovering this amount from tax payers, money is provided from registrar of company’s fund.

This new project commences today and will be completed at the end the March. After it, a new company could be registered in one day utilizing online. Up to now to register a company one has to wait for three days and face difficulties.

If anyone domiciled in a foreign country wants to register a company in Srilanka, they need not come to Srilanka. They could submit necessary documents, passport and other details through online and got it registered in one day after verification. They can pay relevant fees through credit cards.

This Agreement opens a unique chapter in company registration in Srilanka.
