Conversion of Qatari Riyal Refused in BIA Bank Outlets

Consequence  to bilateral ties cut off  with Qatar by Seven countries including Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Libya, the United Arab Emirates, Baharain, Maldives and Egypt  yesterday, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka has informed the Airport Bank branches to refrain from converting Qatar Riyal.

Followed by this direction  of the  Central Bank, which came in to operation this morning  none of the bank outlets at the BIA are carrying out transactions with the Qatari Riyal. Hence, Many passengers are currently facing inconveniences due to the refusal to exchange Qatar Riyal.
