Rajitha Denied Claims that Ministers Harbour Gnanasara Thera

Cabinet Spokesman Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne while answering  journalist in a press conference announcing  cabinet decisions  said yesterday (14),  that a number of ministers accused of sheltering Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General Secretary Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera, have told the Cabinet that it was an Attorney- at- Law,  who was harbouring the monk and not them.  If they have concrete evidence then they should inform the Police,” he said. “One of the ministers stated that Gnanasara Thera is with a lawyer, who handles the legal affairs of the Rajapaksa family.
When some shops in Nugegoda and Maharagama areas were attacked, I called the IGP and asked him to take action. The IGP said that there was CCTV footage and,  that he will send the footage to Moratuwa University to identify those,  who had carried out the attack.
Followed by this,  police acted  swiftly and arrested one of the leaders behind the attack in Nugegoda. Since his arrest, there has not been a single attack on properties belonging to Muslims .
The suspect, who was a Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) member spilled  the  beans during investigation and more arrest will be made based on the phone records of the suspect.
Further commenting on allegations of extremist attacks by certain politicians, including Minister Rauff Hakeem, that a tea factory was set on fire by extremists, which had later proven to be false Senaratne said,  that everyone must be careful before making such statements on sensitive matters.
No minister wants to hide Gnanasara Thera because we want reconciliation and non-recurrence of violence. We have instructed the Police to take steps to achieve this and we must give Police the time to solve this, Co cabinet spokesman , Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera told the press.
