Justice Abrew Withdraws Fundamental Rights Petition

 

Justice Sarath De Abrew a short while ago withdrew the Fundamental Rights (FR) petition he filed earlier with the Supreme Court (SC).

The Supreme Court allowed Abrew to withdraw the petition today.

Supreme Court Justice Sarath de Abrew filed a Fundamental Rights petition on July 6, questioning the legality of the ongoing investigations against him.

A housemaid who was employed in Abrew’s house lodged a complaint recently alleging that he assaulted her. She was admitted to Kalubowila Hospital following the alleged attack.

The investigation on the matter was handed over to the CID within a few days after the incident.
