Statistics on Drop of Agriculture Products in First Quarter

 

Department of Census and Statistics has Taken a Census in the Agriculture Sector. It revealed a drop of 3.2% in agriculture sector during the first quarter of 2017.

Reports says due to adverse weather condition and due to drought in areas where coconut cultivation carried out in the first quarter of 2017. Production of coconut and oil crops have dropped by 53.1% and 10.2% respectively.

While rubber production has recorded drop of 17.2% tea production dropped by 5.7%. In addition forest and tree growing has dropped by 9.3%. Animal products dropped by 6.9%. Flagrance products crops recorded a drop of 6.1%. Finally fisheries sector recorded of a drop of 5.3%.
