Regulating Speed Limits of Three- Wheelers

Yesterday (25) early morning  three  people were killed in the Hungama area in Hambantota as a Tipper lorry collided with a three wheeler .

In another incident, 2 persons were injured  when a   Three wheeler met with an accident in the Kuilwatte area along the Hatton – Colombo main road.

In order to  curb  speeding  three wheelers ,  the Chairman of the National Council on Road Safety , Sisira Kodagoda said,  that a gazette notification  will be issued in future to restrict the speed limit of three wheelers to 40 Kilometres per hour.

Further he said, that participating in a one day work shop will be made mandatory  to obtain  licence for three wheelers .
