Crude Oil in Mannar Sea Bed a Treasure
A report submitted to the Parliament by the Public Accounts Committee disclosed the fact that five billion square feet crude oil and nine trillion square feet of natural gas, which is sufficient for 60 years were discovered.
The report said, beginning from oil excavation up to refinery the cost to be incurred is estimated to be 50 million American dollars. As the oil exploration work in Mannar has reached its’ final stage, a suitable collaborator need to be engaged. Hence, several countries including India and America have shown much interest in collaboration with Srilanka.
