Social Media Under Attack…

 The Sri Lankan President was largely backed by social media activists at the last Presidential election. After two and a half years of his victory, he now finds himself on the warpath with social media.

While addressing a public meeting in Nuwaraeliya,President Maithripala Sirisena said yesterday (29) that Facebook and Social Media sites are the real obstacles to build national unity and religious reconciliation in the country.

Extremists are using social media and  attempting to create unrest in the society and all should understand this situation, said the President. This is not the first time the President attacked the Social Media.
