Convener of the petroleum Trade Unions, D. J. Raajakarunaa said, that their attempt to meet President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to discuss three issues concerning with them has failed.
Their demands are:
1.To stop handing over of oil tanks in Trincomalee to India.
2.Acquisition of the Hambantota port oil tanks by the Petroleum Corporation.
3. Requesting that renovations of the Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery.
They plan to launch a strike to voice on above three main issues. All trade unions scheduled to meet today to determine the cause of action.
