Kumara Welgamage FR Case Fixed for Inquiry

Kalutara district member of Parliament, Kumara Welgama has filed  a  Fundamental Rights Case in the Supreme Court praying to order respondents not to arrest him in connection with the case arising out of  alleged fraudulent purchase of spares for state buses during Mahinda’s era. In his application he stated that the FCID has filed a B Report in the Colombo magistrate court as a prelude to arrest him. Further, he stated in his application that Sashi Welgama, former Chairman of the Srilanka Transport Board had already been arrested and released on bail.
The Supreme Court which examined the FR application today (13) fixed November 7  to take the FR for inquiry.
