Sathosa Chairman Clarifies Mud Slinging  Media Reports on Cocaine Detection

The Sathosa Chairman, D.M.K.P.Tennakone categorically stated  that the detection of cocaine among sugar bags in a container was detected by the Sathosa employees and informed to the police promptly .

Further he said, Sathosa doesn’t import sugar  direct  from any country. But  call tenders  weekly  and placed the order with the successful renderer.   For this week ’’ Ransitha Private Limited’’ was selected in the tender and order was placed with them. Cocaine was detected among the sugar stock brought by them to the Sathosa ware house.  He regretted  to note that certain medias  have involved in slinging mud campaign in this connection . Police has under taken further inquires.

At this press brief one of the members of the Sugar Importers Association said, that the sugar what was brought to the Ratmalana Sathosa ware house  was imported from Brazil. Even in the past  mafia  group engaged in using sugar export to  send their  drugs .  After detection of drugs among sugar  imported  from Brazil  in  the past sugar , Sathosa decided not to import sugar from Brazil, he concluded.
