DIG Lalith Jeyasinghe Interdicted.

National Police Commission has approved interdiction of DIG Lalith Jeyasinghe, who has been arrested and in remand in connection with the murder of student Vidhya in Kayts.

He was accused of aiding and abetting the main murder  suspec Swiss Kumar to escape from  police custody in Jaffna to enable him to reach Colombo.

Followed by remand order given by the Magistrate, the IGP sought NPC’s approval to interdict him. Hence, he is interdicted from service with effect from today (21), said secretary to the NPC , Ariyadasa Cooray.
