US Report on Terrorism States Srilanka is on Alert Regarding  ISIS

The United State has released  its’ report on terrorism in foreign countries  in the year 2016. It quoted the statement made by the former Defence Secretary, Karunasena Hettiarachchi in January 2017 to the effect that although 36 persons from Srilanka had gone to Syria to join the ISIS, physical presence of ISIS in Srilanka was ruled out.
Further, the report states that Anti terrorism training  provided to Srilanka was limited in the year 2016. However bilateral security between US and Srilanka was strengthened.
To protect international ship movement routes, a high level training was provided P-8 Coast Guard Aeroplane training. This training has strengthened  Srilanka in nabbing  cross border terrorists using Srilanka as a transit point to  stage attack in foreign countries. o in collaboration with the Srilanka Air force.
Srilanka security forces concentrate on resurrection of the LTTE. This led the Govt. to adopt flexibility in nabbing Srilankans from joining ISS or other terrorist outfits in foreign countries.
In the meantime 32 members of  few families have gone to Syria to join the ISS, Minister of Justice Wijedasa Rajapakshe disclosed in parliament  in last November, which shocked the Muslims in Srilanka.
