Subject Minister or Chairman of Election Commission in Not Responsible For the Delay in LG Polls.

While speaking at the YMMA Convention today (23), Chairman of the Election Commission Mahinda Deshapriya said, that people keep on blaming the subject Minister and the Chairman of the Election Commission for the delay in holding local Government Elections. This is absolutely wrong. Real fact is that the parliament should pass the election bill and pave way to conduct elections.Franchise is the democratic right of any citizen which should not be either delayed or denied. Subject Minister Faizer Musthafa too said the same and further emphasized there is no need for the government to post pone any election.
