Number  Of Representatives to be Doubled Under New Election Amendment  Bill

Current local government bodies 335 to be increased to 336 under the news election amendment bill. Along with that, the number of members in  Pradesha Saba, Town Council,Urban Council and Provincial Councils will be doubled, Minister of Local Government and Provincial Council Faizer Musthafa  announced.

Accordingly, the number of members in  Pradesha Saba, Town Council, Urban Council and Provincial Councils will be increased from 4,486 to 8,825. Further,  provision was made  to accommodate  2200 woman representatives,  he concluded.
