Tension in Batticaloa

In Karadiyanaru area of Batticaloa one person was shot dead and the other is injured when the Special Task Force fired on illegal sand miners. The person died tried to jump into a river while shooting. Both of them are from Eravur area, Karadiyanaru police said. Boy died is a 17 year old youth named S.Madushan and the injured is 18 years old is S.Kishan. Followed by this incident people and the STF entered into heated argument and at one stage both parties said to have attacked each other and tear gas attack was made on people.
