Ceylon Petroleum Workers have launched continuous strike as from midnight 24th and continuing .They said until their three demands are met , strike will continue.
Due to the strike last two days motorists find it difficult to obtain fuel for their vehicle and seen queue up in fuel stations. Some of the fuel stations have displayed notices stating ‘’ no fuel’’ .
In the meantime air travels from Srilanka to foreign countries will also get affected , if the strike continuous. The Danger of air services come to an end is a possibility, as fuel supply of aero fuel stopped.
However, the Government has deployed Army to restore fuel supply in the country. President Maithripala Sirisena has requested Petroleum workers to report back for duty .
